Interview: Verse

by | Mar 15, 2021 | New Artist Interviews, New in Hip Hop

Artist Name: Verse

New Song/Release Title: Red Bottoms

Tell us something about you:
I’m different and versatile. I like to be original with my music although I have inspirations. I like to put my spin on hip hop/trap. With my versatility, I just recently discovered my voice range so every song from me will have you wondering what you’ll get. I also pay huge attention to my beat selection. I’m very picky when it comes to beats and it has to add some element that isn’t used in most beats or just sounds different from what people are used to.

I was raised in Fayetteville, NC. The music scene out there is pretty big if we’re talking local rappers. We have J. Cole, Kirko Bangz, Dababy and a newer artist Morray. I’m sure I left out some but those are the main people I’ve listened to or heard of. Just seeing that artists have came out from the city I was raised in gives me hope that it definitely is possible. Even in general it’s possible. All it takes is that one song just like the artists from my area.

I’ve loved music since a baby from what my parents told me. Going through life experiences definitely broadened the scope for me. I have more topics to add in my music. I encourage all artists to just go out and live life. Positive and negative experiences play a huge part in an artists music career. For some reason after an eventful day or week it gets my mind booted up to hop in the studio and lay down my best music.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Lil Uzi Vert, Comethazine, Pi’erre Bourne and Playboi Carti
