Interview: OTM_Q1

by | Mar 6, 2021 | New Artist Interviews, New in Hip Hop

Artist Name: OTM_Q1

New Song/Release Title: Superstar

Tell us something about you:
As someone who grew up with an unbiased taste in music I'd say I''m a very versatile artist who isn't afraid to experiment with my sound. I'm not only an artist but a creator. For the longest I felt like I couldn't confide in those around me so I found an avenue where I could not only express myself but have fun doing so.

I'm from a small town of High Springs that sits right outside of Gainesville,F. The music scene is pretty old fashioned. But luckily I grew up in the era of MP3's and LimeWire lol so I was able to get a taste of more modern music at the time. I listened to a lot of Lil Wayne and Chris Brown back then but overtime I extended my reach into more alternative genres.

Growing up in an on and off single parent home with two siblings, I knew I had to be different than the environment around me in order to break curses. But being different gets you judged and as a kid not knowing how to respond to judgment can really lower your self esteem. I wanted to fit in without giving in. Unfortunately I poured a mixed drink but I didn't want to be that kid doing things a kid had no business doing. I enjoyed exploring my creativity and what little world I knew. It's hard to stay optimistic for better to come when you've been confined to one area your entire life but after going to college and graduating, I know that the world is so much bigger than where we are. So through my music I want to be able to reflect on how I feel/felt and create forward thinking vibes that make both me and my fans feel good.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Young Thug
