Interview: certo1k

by | Apr 5, 2021 | New Artist Interviews, New Rap Music Artists

Artist Name: certo1k

New Song/Release Title: closure

Tell us something about you that fans should know:

I would describe myself as a very passionate and emotional artist. I self produce all of my work and engineer my own vocals. I am very serious and articulate about my craft, and have been working on my sound since I was 13. I am 17 now. Every song I make is a process of emotion and needs to be 100% to my standard. Nothing I make is fake. Everything has a deep place inside of my heart.

Where are you from and what’s the music scene like there?

I am from Miami. The music scene out here is extremely diverse, I have lived in other areas such as Los Angeles, and I can say that the scene out here is one of the most diverse I have ever been immersed in. Drum & Bass, to Grimy Trap to Electronic is just booming, Miami is a place for anyone and everyone. Anyone can fit in.

How have your life experiences influenced your music?

My father influenced me to do music, as he was a Hip Hop Artist back in the 90s. When I was 11, he bought me my first Interface and Microphone which I had no idea how to use. Eventually I started getting into recording at the age of 13, as I was told by my friends to do, and I started learning how to mix my own music.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

The Kid Laroi
