Interview: Boudiccas Bass Service

by | Mar 11, 2021 | New Artist Interviews, New in Hip Hop

Artist Name: Boudiccas Bass Service

New Song/Release Title: Egypt’s Over There

Tell us something about you:
I try to make music that sounds a little different, and often music that describes or creates a strange thought/time/feeling of mine. Although it can address things, I think music is often an escape and creating this whole other place around your ears is just very fun and satisfying.

I’m from rural south west England, the main music scene around here is the free party scene which, although different to most the music I make, I love. I think it has still influenced my music as it takes a rig of speakers to show you the power of bass, and it’s also provided plenty of strange material in my life to draw upon.

The music I make always seems quite personal to me, almost private, but packaged up as this whole thing to disguise that. I think I draw on everything i experience in life, but there’s often a focus on psychedelics and the other-worldly. These things are always colourful topics, and the visuals and thought behind the themes links in well with music, kind of like painting a picture of your feelings looking back at a time. It’s certainly a source for lots of stories and emotions, good and bad, that give you something to think about. At the moment a lot of time is spent in your head as there’s not much else to do, so I think my upcoming album is sort of about the space inside your head and how crazy it is and the relation other people have to it as well.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?
This is a very tough question, I guess always your favourite artists come to mind: The Weeknd, Lorde, Glass Animals, I wouldn’t be able to say who most because it’s just to hard but in a dream world that would be just mind-blowing.

Let’s have a listen to the new Boudiccas Bass Service track:
