Interview: AABS BRYANT

by | Feb 14, 2021 | New Artist Interviews | 0 comments

Artist Name: AABS BRYANT
Latest Release: Pt. 2

“I am an artist that's always trying to grow. Not just as a musician, but as a person. How I go about that is remaining studious and diligent in all endeavors. The worst damage you could do to your personal and artistic development is to assume that you know everything. I try to keep an open mind.”

Tell us all about this new track of yours!
I tend to make what I want, when I want. I feel like every track I make is an extension of myself. In that sense, I would describe "Pt. 2" as the merging of my more arrogant side and my honest self. And as you would hear on the track, that's not a quiet merge.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Kanye West, no matter how weird it could get.

Where are you from and what is the music scene like?
I was born in California, but I grew up in Portland, Oregon. Obviously the pandemic has had an effect on the scene as a whole, that's undeniable. But even prior to the pandemic, there wasn't much in the way of collaboration or communication among acts. That being said, there's still a lot of artists that I know and respect out here (shout out TW2D$, tristtan, and Yvng Zander).

How have your life experiences influenced your music?
I feel like there aren't many artists whose life experiences don't influence their music. That being said, I'm not using my life experiences as the center of my content. I use the things I've been through as inspiration for more impressionistic writing and production.
