Recording Artist: JP

Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi my name is Joel Naranjo but as my artist name I like to go by (JP). I am a 17 year old teen who is living in the Bay Area California, Bay Area being my home town. I started making music back in 2019 I was messing around with music until a few friends told me they liked myself style of rapping and I got motivated to make music more often. In 2020 I bought a computer a mic and an interface to record songs for the moment, when I write music its my only get away I get away from the world when I write music I feel free I love to write about events that happen in my life on a daily basis. My main dream is to be one of the biggest artist know to this day and I will strive and fight until my dreams come true. I would love for my songs to be played main stream and to deliver my message to the people. I hope you can understand.

If you could reach any goal in 2021, what would it be?
I would like to blow up this 2021, I want to show my family that this life of me writing songs is not a waste of time and I want to people to hear my message. growing up my family and I we had no money we had to move out of our hometown because we couldn't afford to live there any longer, I had to leave family and friends behind and I just want 2021 to be a major artist in the music industry and I want to help out my family in any way possible.

What is your greatest source of inspiration?
My whole family/friends inspire me to make music.

How have your life experiences influenced your music?
I have had to grow up with no father figure, my dad left me my mom and my brother when I was 3 and growing up for me was not easy having a father figure who can show me how to drive how to shoot a basket he was Never there when I got my first girlfriend or when I scored a goal in soccer or all those times I got super sick he never was there for me he's only been there when its for his own good. Growing up I had to live with a single mom feeding her little kids and she did not make a lot of money at all to pay rent and to feed her kids and we had to move away to somewhere that was way cheaper because we could not afford to live there anymore. I never had money and I know money is not key to life but when you have money you don't feel worthless and that's how I've been feeling all of my life until I found music.
